Backline is a tight, five-piece band out of Spartanburg, South Carolina.  With roots planted firmly in mountain-music soil, while being watered by today’s more contemporary grass sounds, Backline is branching out and producing a music unlike any other.

Backline’s band members grew up in “Mill Hill Towns” such as Pacolet, Glendale, and Spartanburg. The word “backline” came from the term that was commonly used in the textile era of the old South. Used to describe the “back” of the mill, and the last row of houses in a housing section. Backline’s stunning music is performed by self-described “common people,”  with uncommon talents.
